Our Story...

Campaign leaders Jack McWilliam (he/they) and April Long (they/them) hold a shared understanding of the barriers trans, gender diverse and non-binary people face when seeking, accessing and engaging in mainstream alcohol and other drug residential treatment services.

April and Jack also recognise the importance of providing AOD responses that are tailored to different communities unique needs and experiences.

With this shared passion and unique understanding, they have joined forces and are leading PRISM, the National campaign to champion the establishment of recovery spaces for trans, gender diverse and non-binary people.

Just as light can show many different hues, gender is also a wide and colorful spectrum. In the same way that a prism reveals all the different colours hidden in white light, PRISM creates a welcoming space for all genders.

Meet The Campaign Leaders...

Every campaign has a story, and we want YOU to be part of PRISM's story

PRISM and all its contributors acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of all Lands and Nations its work takes place on. We pay our respect to Ancestors, Elders, and leaders of the future, who live their lives spiritually connected and in relationship with Country and all the living systems. We also pay our respects to any Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander folk who are reading this today. We recognise that the Traditional Custodians have cared for Country since the dawn of time, and they remain spiritually and culturally connected to Country.
